Resilience is that trait that empowers us to not only get through a crisis, but to bounce back stronger than ever. It’s about having the willingness to pursue stretch goals, the courage to get up when you’ve been knocked down, and the tenacity of spirit to embrace all that makes life worth living, even if that means turning around when you realize that you’ve been going in the wrong direction.
When you have a clear sense of identity and purpose, you are more resilient, because you can hold fast to your vision of a better future.
The good news is that research has proven that resilience is not a genetic gift for the lucky few. It is a set of skills that can be practiced and mastered over time. Stepping Stones to Greater Resilience: Strategies to Thrive Through Adversity is a self-directed learning guide to strengthen the skills that have been proven to not only to get you through challenging times, but to create a better quality of life on a daily basis.
